Playing and scoring
Start a game
Every game starts from Play. Pick a game and its setup screen opens, where you add the players and choose the rules. The match games, X01 and Cricket, also have one-tap starting points on their cards, such as 501 or Cutthroat.
Step by step
- Pick a gameTap Play, then a game. Match games, Practice, Pub games and Party games each have their own group.
- Add the playersTap a name under Quick add, type a name under Guest name, or tap Add friends, players or a bot.
- Set the rulesChoose the options for the game, and the match length when two players or pairs are playing.
- StartTap Start game, Start match or Start practice at the bottom of the screen.
Players
The lineup lists everyone in throw order. A guest you add by name is saved to your players, so they show up under Quick add next time. A friend with an account confirms on their phone when you start, and the game counts for them too.
X01 takes up to eight players. With four players, X01 and Cricket can be played as Doubles: two pairs, with partners taking turns at the board.
X01 options
| Option | Choices |
|---|---|
| Starting score | 301, 501, 701, 901, or Custom |
| In rule | Straight in, Double in, Master in |
| Out rule | Straight out, Double out, Master out |
| Handicap | Give each player their own start (two or more players, not doubles) |
Cricket has its own options: Standard, Cutthroat or No score, the board, and whether the bull counts. The rules themselves are in the guides, such as 501 rules and Cricket rules, and every setup screen has a How to play button.
Legs and sets
With two players or two pairs in X01 or Cricket, the Match option offers a Single leg, first to a number of Legs, or first to a number of Sets. The app remembers the length you last chose for each game.
Practice and stats
- Solo X01 or Cricket, or a game against a bot, is practice. It stays in your history but out of your stats, unless you turn on Count bot games in Settings → Scoring.
- Turn off Count toward stats on the setup screen to keep a game in your history without it changing your numbers.
