Friends and online play
Add friends and manage requests
Friends share stats, play each other online and can score each other's tournaments. You manage them in Friends, in the sidebar on a computer and under the You menu on a phone. Adding Friends needs an account.
Step by step
- Open FriendsOpen Friends from the sidebar, or from the You menu on a phone.
- SearchType at least two letters of their name or @handle under Find friends.
- Send a requestTap Add beside the right person. They show under Pending (sent) until they answer.
Adding someone at the board
Tap My code beside Find friends to show a QR code of your profile. When a friend scans it, your profile opens with Add friend. Share link sends the same profile link by message.
Answering requests
Requests to you appear under Incoming requests with Accept and Decline. Requests you sent can be withdrawn with Cancel.
People can only find you by handle once you have one, so set it in Settings → Profile. In Settings → Privacy & data, Show me in Find friends and Allow friend requests control who can find and ask you. With requests off, your profile says Not taking friend requests.
What you can do with a friend
- Tap their row to see your head-to-head record and View all of their stats.
- Play sets up an X01 game with them on your phone. They get an invite to count it in their stats too.
- Challenge them to a match on their own board: see Play a friend online.
Remove or block someone
Tap the ⋯ button beside a friend for Remove friend, Report and Block. Someone you remove stays as a player on your roster until you delete them.
A blocked player can't find you or send you requests, and you won't see them in search. Any friendship ends, they aren't told, and your past games together stay in your history. Blocked players are listed at the bottom of Friends, each with Unblock.
