Tournaments

Score a tournament on several phones

A tournament can be scored on as many phones as you have boards. Each phone takes one match at a time, and results show up on every phone following the tournament.

Step by step

  1. Add scorersOn the tournament page, under Scorers, tap Add scorer and pick a friend. They don't have to be playing.
  2. Open the tournamentEach scorer opens the tournament on their own phone.
  3. Play a matchTap a match in the draw, then Play match. That phone now holds the match until it's done.

Who can score

WhoWhat they can do
OrganizerEverything, including correcting a decided score or the match length.
ScorersPlay any match, enter a result, give a walkover and take over a match.
PlayersPlay their own matches, or report a result for their opponent to confirm, with or without an account.

When a match is on another phone

A match being scored elsewhere says Being scored on that person's device. An organizer or scorer can tap Take over scoring to carry on from where it left off, and the first phone stops scoring. You can also take over a match from your own other device. A match nobody has touched for 10 minutes is free to pick up.

If you leave a match partway, it shows at the top of the page under Pick up where you left off with Resume.

Reported results

A player who scores a match away from the app can tap Report result. Their opponent sees it and taps Confirm or That's wrong. An organizer or scorer enters a result directly.

Boards

Calling matches to boards is for tournaments run by a venue. A tournament with no venue has no boards: players see Up next on the tournament page instead. See Kiosk and TV for venues.
